ORW Old Soul Petite Sirah '21

From the valley's steepest slope, this is garnet with a nose of blackberry, violet, and smoked meat. The palate is muscular yet refined—flavors of blueberry, dark chocolate, and polished tannins that Vinous (95 pts) calls "a iron fist in velvet." Aged 16 months in 30% new oak, this 2017 vintage (harvested September 12th) is peaking now–2035. Decant for venison stew. 90 cases produced.
