ORW Maggio Petite Sirah '21

From a Grand Cru-quality site, this is pale straw with a nose of green apple, crushed shell, and white flowers. The palate is razor-sharp—flavors of lime zest, almond skin, and a finish that Burghound (94 pts) calls "Chablis on steroids." Fermented in neutral oak, the 2022 vintage (harvested August 20th) has 13% alcohol and bracing acidity. Best 2025–2035 with raw sea urchin. 200 cases made.
