Frey Organic Zinfandel '18

Now hitting its stride, this mature Zin from 45-year-old organic vines shows bricking at the rim with a nose of dried fig, leather and black tea - classic tertiary development. The palate has softened into elegance, offering flavors of prune, cocoa powder and a touch of earth, with resolved tannins that Wine Advocate (90 pts) suggests "pair beautifully with braised meats." Aged 18 months in used American oak, this library release demonstrates how well organic Zinfandel can age. Drink now-2025 with short ribs or mushroom bourguignon.
