Dom. Michel Mallard Ladoix Blanc '18 White Wine & France & Chardonnay

From a tiny parcel near Corton-Charlemagne, this Burgundian Chardonnay presents a deep gold robe. The mature nose offers honeyed apple, toasted hazelnut, and a touch of mushroom. The palate is richly textured with flavors of quince paste, marzipan, and a striking minerality that earned 94 points for its development. Aged 18 months in French oak (30% new), this 13.5% alcohol white is at its peak now - sublime with lobster thermidor or truffle risotto.
